The First Quilt is Finished!

Last week I began making this quilt as part of my ministry. Tyler gave me my birthday and Christmas present early, when he bought me a sewing machine. My hope is that eventually there will be other people involved in this ministry with me, especially other nationals. It doesn't seem so now that we are entering summer here, but it does get quite cold here in the winter and the blankets will be great for keeping people warm and adding some colour to their homes. I also hope that in giving them these blankets it will open a door for them to trust me and share the Gospel with them. I must thank Mrs. Barb Wheaton for teaching me how to tie a quilt this past year at TLC.

A Trip to the Zoo with the kids from the Cuna

Meet Daniel Roberts one of the short term missionaries with Kids Alive. He is a new friend of ours and the son of the worship director at Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington Ontario (Pastor Rob's church). We have enjoyed getting to know him during the past two months. All of the kids love Daniel. He has an amazing heart for the people here and reaching them with God's love. On weekends he has been working through a devotional with the older boys from the home. We encourage you to pray for him as he works with them each week. Daniel is hoping to return to Peru some time in the future, we look forward to his return. Thank you Daniel for the encouragement you have been to us.

This is Flor, she always has a smile on her face. What a joy.

This is Diana. We met her and her older sister Mila when we were here two years ago. It was a delight to see her again. I also got to see her mom again for the first time since we have been back, this was very exciting for me.

This is 'little' Mila. When we were here in 2005 and there were two girls named Mila at the Cuna, this is the younger one. My, how she has grown...

David and Bryon playing in a little casita at the zoo.

This is the whole group of children who came with us to the zoo. Notice all of the little ones, much to our surprise they walked the whole way all day.

We Love to Bake!

We had a few of our friends over for dinner last week. Myah and Sarah helped prepare our desert by crumbling up Oreo cookies. As you can see on Myah's face they also volunteered as taste testers.

Juan Carlos has been volunteering his time at the Children's home for the past several months. Tyler has been working with him nearly every day. He is a great person and we enjoy his company.

Close up Pictures from Manchay

This ark playground was built by a workteam from People's Church in Wyoming, Ontario. There has been quite a lot completed since we were here the first time two years ago.

The 4 and 5 year old class at the cuna, playing in the new fenced soccer/basketball court.

This two story building is the new homework club at the Care Center (Cuna). These are two of the girls who come to the club each morning.

Hey PG,
I am sure that you would like to see even more close up pictures, don't worry there are more to come :-).
