Sewing Again

Today I finished sewing this outfit for Myah's friend Sydney, for her birthday. I love this style skirt, it is so adorable. I made a yo-yo flower to embelish the plain white shirt I bought to g with the skirt and I am happy with how it pulled together.

Oliver Twist Performed by the students of Fetzer Memorial Christian Academy

On Friday night we went to see the girls perform in the musical Oliver Twist with their fellow classmates. They have been practicing for a few months, singing songs and running lines. The performance was well done and a lot of fun to see. Here are a few pictures from the play.

Streamers, Fabric and Fun

I got the urge to sew again the other day, so I made a few skirts for the girls for school.  I love the different fabrics they are made from. They were also quick and easy to make.
Classic Myah

Love my new skirts!

A little bit of paper, a few streamers, a piece of tape and Myah is having fun.

"When Helping Hurts"

Last week we were given a copy of the book When Helping Hurts.  I began reading it the other day and I can hardly put it down. It addresses the subject of poverty and what we are doing about it.  It drives the reader to evaluate their personal understanding and opinion of poverty.  Admittedly my thoughts of what describes poverty have dramatically changed over the past five years as I spend more and more time with the materially poor of this world.  I will not say much more but,  I would highly recommend that every Christian read this book, especially those involved in ministry, outreach or missions whether local or global. If you do read this book, I would love to know what you think of it.
