Spider Bites and Other Insects

Homemade "Slip n Slide"
Life continues to be enjoyable here in Pucallpa. After not seeing rain for nearly four years we have had our share of jungle downpours. Myah has no memory of seeing lightning, so it has been interesting to see her reaction. We just finished an eight day rain streak. On Saturday while looking for something to do in the rain, Sarah and the neighbour kids decided to make their own "slip n slide" out of  a long mud puddle in the grass. Let's just say that there was a lot of grass left in the bottom of the shower at the end of the day.

We had finally decided on a church that we will attend regularly. We had been visiting different ones to see where we felt our family would thrive. Where we would be fed from God's Word and be able to minister within the church as God leads.

Myah had an awful bite from a jumping spider that took about 10 days to heal. Right away a blister formed and  week later the infection finally let out. Since then her leg has healed very quickly.

To add to the excitement we have survived our first ever battle with lice. Just typing that word makes me itchy, but we have learned that it is quite common to catch it here in the jungle and that many other families have been through the lice battle themselves.
