Pink Lemonade Stand

I was inspired to make a lemonade stand for Myah to use when she is playing with her dolls. I started with two boxes and two deco mesh paper rolls, silicone glue, and masking tape.

The beginnings of our stand. Thanks to my friend and neighbour Rosemary for the left over milk boxes.

Starting to paint the roof.

Everyone helped out.

Almost done.

Ready to play!

Tundra Escape

Myah had a project this week about the Tundra. One of the things she could do was create a class activity. She came up with this board game. I think it is pretty creative.

Group Trip to the Boqueron

Yesterday was a holiday for the students of SAM Academy, so with several other families we took a trip to the Boqueron. It was a lot of fun. We went in five cars that were fully loaded with over 30 people!

On the way home two cars had radiator problems, so our 3 hour drive turned into a 6 hour adventure to return home.

Fifteen minutes into our drive home the first car's rad acted up. As we were working on towing it to a nearby gas station we discovered that another car had a hole in it's rad hose. So with two cars down it was time to get creative. One of the cars needed a more involved repair and required that we look for a town with a mechanic, while the other just needed a hose replaced. All of the passengers were dropped off at the closest gas station to wait while the cars were repaired. At least we found some shade to sit in. An hour later once the initial repairs were done we started out again.

Each time we made it about 25 - 40 km before we needed to stop and let the one car cool down so we could refill the rad. This happened 5 or 6 times. Thankfully we were able to find places to pull over where the kids could get out and stretch.
Taking some funny pictures.

I Wish I Was Able...

I wish I was able to express my heart and thoughts better than I do. It seems so often that I have thoughts that I want to communicate with others about what God is teaching me or things that are going on and when it comes down to it I just cannot seem to write them down. It is so frustrating to me. Maybe that is one of the reasons I write so little on this blog. It is not a lack of thought or desire just ability to clearly and effectively communicate my heart.

Ready for the New School Year

Tyler and Colin worked on getting SAM Academy ready for the new school year. They put up super board in the elementary classroom, did some electrical work in the high school room and hung up the ceiling fans.

Our Summer Guests

This summer we had visits from two special people, Tyler's mom (Grandma) and Colin Campbell a good friend form our home church in Cambridge. We enjoyed our visit with each of them.  We were able to visit Yarina Cocha and tour the lake in a Peke Peke boat. We went to the local zoo, went deep into a small stream to see amazing birds and also to the Boqueron with Colin.

I decided to post black and white pictures for fun.

Tournavista Road Trip

Yesterday, Tyler, Myah and I went on a little road trip to Tournavista. It is the town where SAM Air started their ministry back it the 1960's. A few weeks ago SAM Air celebrated their 50th anniversary of  ministry in Peru. It was a wonderful time to reflect on God's faithfulness and how He has used this ministry to further His Kingdom.

Tournavista is about two hours from where we live. It is also the original location of SAM Academy (our daughters school). The drive was beautiful. We passed through several tiny towns with just a homes in sight. But, there were many cattle farms that we passed surrounded by jungle trees. Hannah would have loved all of the horses we saw, as they are one of her favourite animals.

We took just a few pictures to share with you.

An old bridge that has fallen down. We crossed several bridges on our drive yesterday though they were all
pretty small and some of them only a few boards laid over a stream.

El Boqueron

Today we went with some of our friends to the waterfalls at El Boqueron. It is about a three hour drive on a winding two lane highway with several washouts along the way. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Some Old Favourites
